To mark the end of this year’s successful CSA and Farmer’s Market program, Bassett’s Living Well team conducted a Meet Your Local Farmer interview with Willy Bruneau, owner of Middlefield Orchard. Middlefield Orchard partnered with Bassett for the second year of the Farmer’s Market and first of the CSA program, providing an abundance of local fresh produce to employees and the public from early July until late September. Both programs were highly successful, with CSA customers especially hoping for a return next year.
The interview was arranged by Living Well program supervisor Lynae Wyckoff and moderated by research assistant Caitlin Liberati, and over twenty minutes of conversation Willy touched on a number of topics, including his start in farming and how people can continue supporting their local farmers. He highlighted the CSA program as a great benefit to his work, noting that being able to show people where their food comes from is an important part of his farming journey.
