The Bassett Research Institute is pleased to introduce our interns for the summer season! They each bring a wealth of education and unique experiences, and we look forward to working with them in the coming months.
Fiona Held – Administrative Intern
Fiona attends Binghamton University and is between her second and third year in pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She’s always wanted to work in healthcare with a focus on psychology and mental health. Her goals for this internship include learning about public health and possibly expanding her career options, making connections, utilizing current software, and gaining experience working in a professional setting, as well as having some fun.
Eliana Minenna – Administrative Intern
Eliana will be a sophomore at University at Albany this fall and she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. She is grateful to have the opportunity to grow professionally and learn more about the multi-faceted world of public health research. She is looking forward to learning more about our community’s needs and how we can improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
Kelly O’Neill-Knasick – Administrative Intern
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Health Policy and Behavior Management at the University at Albany, SUNY. Now halfway through her MPH program, Kelly is deeply interested in how qualitative analysis and behavioral patterns across rural communities influence health outcomes, particularly morbidity and mortality rates.
Christiana Odewumi – Public Health Research Intern
Christiana recently earned her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, along with a certificate in Applied Biostatistics and Public Health Data Science. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-med with a minor in Communication from the University of Massachusetts Boston, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
